Two answers to the same problem
When you need terabytes of residential traffic a month, normal per-GB pricing gets expensive. Rayobyte and Geonode both offer high-volume products, but they price them differently:
- Rayobyte Scale Residential: monthly plans with a huge GB allowance and a concurrency limit, no targeting.
- Geonode unlimited residential: unlimited traffic priced by port speed, with targeting.
See our unlimited bandwidth proxies guide for the general idea.
Side by side
| Rayobyte Scale Residential | Geonode unlimited residential | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing | $100/mo for 6,600 GB to $5,000/mo for 526,000 GB | From about $1,800/mo at 200 Mbps |
| Effective price | $0.015 to $0.0095 per GB | Depends on how fully you use the port |
| Limit | 1 concurrent request per $1 of plan | Port speed |
| Targeting | None | Yes |
| Sticky sessions | Supported | Supported |
| Access | Verified businesses after a compliance review | Purchase or sales |

Understanding the limits
Rayobyte caps concurrency: a $1,500 plan allows 1,500 requests in flight and includes 136,000 GB. If each request takes 3 seconds and returns 100 KB, you'd move around 4 TB a day, so the GB allowance and the concurrency cap are roughly balanced at that tier. See concurrency and threads.
Geonode caps throughput: 200 Mbps sustained is about 2.1 TB a day, or 65 TB a month if you saturate it around the clock. Real use is lower, so the effective per-GB price depends on how busy you keep the port.
Targeting decides a lot
Scale Residential has no targeting at all. If your large workload needs countries (multi-market price monitoring, local SERPs at scale), Scale Residential doesn't fit and Geonode's unlimited plans or Rayobyte's Premium Residential at enterprise rates do. If you don't care about location (broad crawls, AI datasets), Scale Residential's price is very hard to beat.
Residential tip: Many teams end up using more than one provider: Rayobyte for ZIP and ASN targeted residential traffic or its Scraping API, Geonode for non-expiring per-GB bandwidth and long sticky sessions. Start with Rayobyte Scale Residential proxies.
Entry point
Scale Residential starts at $100 a month, which makes high-volume residential accessible to smaller businesses that pass the review. Geonode's unlimited plans start much higher, around $1,800, aimed at teams with sustained heavy traffic.
Which to choose
| Workload | Better fit |
|---|---|
| Untargeted crawl, any size | Rayobyte Scale Residential |
| Targeted crawl, steady 24/7 traffic | Geonode unlimited |
| Targeted crawl, bursty traffic | Rayobyte Premium Residential at volume, or Geonode per GB |
| Small team, first high-volume project | Rayobyte Scale ($100 entry) |
| No time for a compliance review | Geonode |

A real-world example
A search startup needs to crawl about 40 TB of public web pages a month without any location requirement. After passing Rayobyte's compliance review, it buys Scale Residential at $1,500 a month, which includes 136,000 GB and 1,500 concurrent requests, comfortably covering 40 TB. A separate team in the same company monitors prices in 12 countries around the clock; that targeted, steady workload fits Geonode's unlimited residential plan better, because it includes targeting.
Proxy tip: To test the Geonode side of this comparison, a small residential balance from Geonode is enough, and it doesn't expire if you pause. See Geonode unlimited residential proxies for its full product range.
Pros and cons for high-volume residential
Rayobyte Scale Residential
- About 1 to 1.5 cents per GB.
- Low $100 entry point.
- No targeting; concurrency tied to spend; compliance review required.
Geonode unlimited
- Targeting included.
- Priced by port speed for steady 24/7 traffic.
- Higher entry price, around $1,800 a month.

Budget tip: If you want a cheap proxy to try this with, Webshare has a free plan with 10 datacenter proxies and 1 GB of bandwidth a month, no card required. Paid lists let you pick proxy count, bandwidth and location. See Webshare rotating residential proxies.
Key takeaways
- Rayobyte Scale Residential is extremely cheap per GB but has no targeting and caps concurrency by spend.
- Geonode unlimited residential includes targeting and is capped by port speed, starting around $1,800 a month.
- Choose Scale for untargeted volume, Geonode unlimited for steady targeted volume.
- Scale Residential requires a compliance review.
FAQ
Is Rayobyte Scale Residential unlimited?
No. Each plan includes a large GB allowance and a concurrency limit, for example 6,600 GB and 100 concurrent requests on the $100 plan.
Can I target countries on Geonode unlimited residential?
Yes, Geonode's unlimited plans support targeting at the time of writing.
Which is cheaper per GB?
Usually Scale Residential, if you don't need targeting and can use the allowance.
